The first time I heard Jets to Brazil was in Little D’s car driving home from a Buckshot show circa ‘98. That was 10 years ago… Geeez.

Blake Schwarzenbach has a new band, here’s videos of them playing at that punk house in Crown Heights called The Fort. Sounds good, poppy like Jawbreaker.
It reminds me of when I lived at the punk house in Santa Cruz and after the Jets to Brazil show my roommate Chas’ friend though it would be funny to start a rumor that Blake was coming to the punk house after the show. There were people hanging at our house but not Blake, and of course groups of young emo kids were outside lurking and trying to play it cool. Chas had to burst their bubble by telling them “Do you guys think Blake Schwarzenbach is coming here, because he’s not” which of course they thought was a trick. But when people left and we went bed the kids outside finally gave up. That dude’s got some diehard fans.

Looks like we are not blown out yet boys. We are right on time! I’m stoked to be part of the heard. “Led Zeppelin is still cool!” - Matt Caliri

Daylighting: *cough cougholdeivory* *coughsharks coughcoughrays* With diverse sets of interests and little in their bank accounts,it isn’t uncommon for young people to work multiple jobs - for example, moonlighting as a waitress to earn extra money, doing graphic design on the side to gain experience, or making crafts with the hopes of someday starting a business. However, as the economy slows and times get tougher, people are increasingly using their on-the-clock time at one job to work on projects for another job. Many are doing it secretively, finishing work for their real jobs quickly and then sneaking in work for another employer during that same shift. Others are figuring out how to earn an extra line of income more legitimately, for example by selling home cooked meals to their coworkers or running two businesses out of their home. As this trend grows we can see it having an increasing influence on the workplace; in fact, expect employers to permit daylighting as a way to entice potential new hires.

Wisest Wizard drinking game: While fantasy role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons are largely associated with nerdy kids, this drinking game has been gaining in popularity amongst both college students and the mid- to late-30s set, perhaps mainly for its endearing geek factor. The rules vary, but basically playing Wisest Wizard requires cans of beer and duct tape. After each player finishes a beer, they use duct tape to attach a new can on top of the empty one, thus building up their “wizard’s staff.” Each empty beer can signifies a level, and when players reach agreed upon levels they go to battle (i.e. take a shot of liquor). Other variations include wizard staff jousting. While we don’t condone underage or binge drinking, this does sound a lot more lively than the classic card games we played in college.

Snagged that and this from Barry Ritholtz’s awesome financial blog The Big Picture. http://sadguysontradingfloors.tumblr.com
I don’t understand how Barry has enough time to find all the funniest crap about the economic mess on the internet, run a company, analyze all the crazy madness happening as it happens, make guest appearances on shows, and blog like crazy with consistent awesome content. Laughing will be the cure to this crises. So thanks for the laughs Mr. Genius Ritholtz. You will be in the history books.

I’m so glad I borrowed this movie from the library! When I was at the library, the Heroes chick caught my eye and then Kelly Hu’s name on the box sold me on it. I just finished watching the movie and I feel really stoked for some reason. In fact, I’ve never felt better staying home on a Saturday night all by myself without drinking a drop of alcohol. hahaha this movie was made for the murdles. Yo Hardflip, you need to go rent this ASAP.
Get ready to up the street wear around here! The shirts I designed for kidrobot last year are finally out and available on their web store.

Yes this is shameless self promotion, but I benefit in no way from you buying them. I get no royalties or anything, but I’m just stoked to see them finally come out. Look out Hypebeast, prepare yourself for the mind explosion!
This is one of the funniest Ali G episodes I’ve seen probably. It’s a shame that this kind of stuff can’t happen anymore since everyone knows about Sacha Baron Cohen. Ali G show had some pretty genious writing. I heard an interview with Seth Rogen talking about writing for Ali G and how you have to guess what the guests are gonna say and write different jokes for different possible responses etc. That shit was on some comedy writing 2.0 choose your own adventure style. Excited to see how the Bruno movie turns out, though after the success of borat it’s gotta be that much harder to film anything without people realizing.
