New Judgement Day shirts.
Why so serious?

I designed these shirts this summer when they were on tour with Mates of State, and they finally got printed in time for their current tour. First leg was with Margo and the nuclear so and sos, and now they’re finishing up the tour with the bay area band Dredge. Their show at the highline ballroom here in NY was pretty good, plus I got to cypher a few plates full of chicken caesar salad backstage. I don’t eat enough veggies these days ’cause shit’s expensive here. Salad days.

HIPSTER COMEDY!

HAHA, Jonah hates when I used that term. Hey bro, Aziz’s words not mine. Look at Jonah hold the that beer and mic stand at the same time. Genius. A few weeks ago, our own beloved comedian brah brah Jonah Ray performed in his home state of Hawaii for the very first time. He opened for Grahm Elliot and Doug Benson in front of a hometown crowd, including a bunch of his moke portagee family. It was entertaining hearing him do his spanking bits in front of his parents. Homeslice is doing his thing. And by thing, I mean… COMEDY! Check him out hosting FANBOY FOCUS here on current.com > link.

Looks like we are not blown out yet boys. We are right on time! I’m stoked to be part of the heard. “Led Zeppelin is still cool!” - Matt Caliri

Daylighting: *cough cougholdeivory* *coughsharks coughcoughrays* With diverse sets of interests and little in their bank accounts,it isn’t uncommon for young people to work multiple jobs - for example, moonlighting as a waitress to earn extra money, doing graphic design on the side to gain experience, or making crafts with the hopes of someday starting a business. However, as the economy slows and times get tougher, people are increasingly using their on-the-clock time at one job to work on projects for another job. Many are doing it secretively, finishing work for their real jobs quickly and then sneaking in work for another employer during that same shift. Others are figuring out how to earn an extra line of income more legitimately, for example by selling home cooked meals to their coworkers or running two businesses out of their home. As this trend grows we can see it having an increasing influence on the workplace; in fact, expect employers to permit daylighting as a way to entice potential new hires.

Wisest Wizard drinking game: While fantasy role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons are largely associated with nerdy kids, this drinking game has been gaining in popularity amongst both college students and the mid- to late-30s set, perhaps mainly for its endearing geek factor. The rules vary, but basically playing Wisest Wizard requires cans of beer and duct tape. After each player finishes a beer, they use duct tape to attach a new can on top of the empty one, thus building up their “wizard’s staff.” Each empty beer can signifies a level, and when players reach agreed upon levels they go to battle (i.e. take a shot of liquor). Other variations include wizard staff jousting. While we don’t condone underage or binge drinking, this does sound a lot more lively than the classic card games we played in college.

Wednesday, 30 July 2008 by blastyojaw in LA, SF, audio, video

I just stumbled across this group One Block Radius because I noticed Z-Man was in it. Then I noticed the white dude looked like the dude from Scapegoat Wax. Then I realized it was the dude from Scapegoat Wax. And then I noticed their myspace player had over 5,000 plays today! Damn! After all the hard work these guys have put into the game, I’m glad they’re finally getting some shine.  Z-Man will murder you on the mic!

Look closely - you can see the Unclemurdles Chicken sticker on the hood of the car. I placed it there, next to my ‘mido’ tag. This picture of the graffiti car is on the Life is Beautiful art show website. Exposure son!
