2008 was pretty mental for me. emotionally, mentally and soul’ly (hahrang?)… 2009 just hit. gonna start exercising, quit smoking, chill on the drink, practice more guitar… i feel it comin. gotta stay posi no matter what happens. getting bummed is good fuel to stay positive.

if you havent heard these folks before… check it out… Camper Van Beethoven. pick up the album Key Lime Pie. Dennis Herring did this record (modest mouse, bruce hornsby, neil diamond…) in 1989. check it!

i cant… the more i try, the harder it gets… i get plenny exercise and work ALOT… but still cant seem to get a good night of sleep in.
so during the time i am awake, i listen to music. been listenin to that band caustic resin alot… good shit… just got back into that band Portastatic. they just came out with a B-sides release. its pretty solid. i suggest checking out the song Useless Switch.
i spend my days at work thinkin about my hawaii days. miss the bro’s.

AJ is real good at make new friends… he did when he visited me and i’ve been hangin out with the dudes he introduced me to. good guys. this one buddy that AJ met and one that i hang out with alot is Celso Chavez. he was in that band Possum Dixon back in the 90’s. they had a couple singles and did pretty well actually. drugs fucked him up at the end but had his run. same with this guy Evan i hang with. he does live sound at this place over here in echopark. knows a shit ton of good music. everytime i hang with him he shows me new shit. its amazing.
so i think i know what i’m gonna do. gonna start a band… but in order to be in the band, you had to have gotten kicked out of a previous band. and we are only gonna practice once before a show. and we are gonna get hammered before the show. and scream about fighting. and have only crazy people in the band. thrash. thrash… LA music scene sucks balls to tell you the truth. everything sounds pretty safe… i’m puttin down the indie rock riffs and learnin gettin my blues hammer back.

I’m pretty picky when it comes to music… especially new bands. and i feel like i’ve listened to everything from the 90’s… not even close… Caustic Resin… Best band i’ve ever heard.

Brett Netson started this band. He used to play for Mark Lanegan, Treepeople and is the current guitar player for Built To Spill.  I’m gonna send everyone a copy of the CD via email. Listen to the guitar tones in it. fuckin amazing…

i never got into pavement when is was younger. but somehow knew all about them. i love malkmus and the jicks, but still… then i bought Brighten the Corners and Slanted and Echanted… FUCK! i cant stop listening to it. too good. Check out Starlings in the Slipstream. super good song. Stereo is a good jam too… but yea… pavement… genius…

start savin up your money kids. i’m going to South America. i think summer of 09 or maybe earlier. i defiantely gotta plan it out more, but i’m thinkin of going for like 3 months or something. as long as i can. hit up colombia/peru/brazil/argentina… all of it. surf is gonna be killa! anyone down?

alright, so this is some shit… my fuckin left nut has been hurting for like 4 days now. i dont got no health insurance so i cant go to the doctors. but man, its in pain… it comes and goes whenever it wants to. now it just feels like its numb. has anyone gone through this? let me know man! i’m freakin…
