Coooool. Miyash and I have this going this month. Should be fun. Since there are only screamo bands left in Honolulu, we get to play alllll by ourselves. WANKFEST ‘08!!

So I figured this is an easier way to tell everyone the wife and i are still alive and well on the Honeymoon in Bali. Its day 10 or 11 and we are on a tiny island off the coast of lombok called Gili Trawengan. We have been here 2 days, and before this we were on Gili Air for 2 days…These islands are tiny little pieces of paradise. so small, walk around eachj one in an hour, beer is $1 each, i found htis amazing local gasoline drink called Arak I will bring back that getys you too cutty to not laugh. topless girls too! PERVING!

Before this we spent 3 days in Seminyak which was a haole yuppie town, then we took a 5 day tour with our driver to the most amazing spots we have ever seen, so green, looks like hawaii but much more lush, much more poor. shits third world. we then went snorkeling off this little island called Mangagen off the north coast off Bali. best snorkeling i have ever done, all live coral, so many fish turtles….we then went to this town called Amed where we went barracuda fishing at 5 in the morning with this little guy on his tiny boat..there were about 200 other fishing boats out and the sun was coming up…then we went to candidasa which is on the east shore and went to the first village ever in Bali, shit is over 1000 years old and they keep it real. it had the most insane smell an feel in there. creeped me out cause we were some honkeys lurking in their spot but they enjoyed us being there cause we gave them money.

tomorrow we go to Ubud in the mountians then more small islands….food is insanely cheap, and we are tan, getting exersise exploring every day and everyone is super nice….then island we are on now serves mushroom smoothies so rach and i shared one and tripped balls while watching 40 year virgin on the beach last night…shrooms scare me, first time i have done them in like 8 years…surreal life one, starring the Pooleys. WE love and miss you all, and we have 1000 pics for everyone to see.

First up…Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I was so amped to see this. Like all of you, I grew up loving Indiana Jones jumping around thinking i could swing anything “whip like” at a tree and it will lock on and I can swing…still can’t. So when I heard this was coming out this summer, i decided i would come out also…of the closet. I am officially gay for Indy. I waited a few days to see this one, which I am glad I did, because i got to hear the opinions from many of my friends (whom i have a similar movie taste and love of indy) All of their opinions were identical (by all i mean 3) “It sucked, don’t see it, if you love old indy movies you will hate this one and you will wish you were dead blah blah blah”…..so I went in expecting to be bummed. I even caught myself forcing myself to be bummed, but I wasn’t bummed, I was amped. I was like little kids at lyles work when the blue angels were doing test flights over honolulu yelling COOOOOL! the entire tim I was stoked, even the cheesy parts made me stoked. it was a fun movie, sure corny at times, but George Lucas writes shitty dialogue so big surprise. It was non stop action, harrison looked rad, Shia was fine as a motha fucka and that queen elizabeth broad killed as a russian. So I highly recommend it, it made me wanna go home and practice closing the garage door and trying to make it time before it closes, while reaching for my hat at the last minute. I told my friends that didn’t like it that they need to regress a bit and go see it again with the mindset of a kid…just stoked…and yell COOOL! when you hear the music…it feels good.

Next Up….Speed Racer

This one I thought looked cool in the previews, but had a weird feeling about it. For one, I knew the details of the cartoon, but i could give a fuck, I never gave a shit about Speed Racer, so why would I now?

The answer is because it is fucking AWESOME! I was so amped on this movie. this time I was having to yell over all the kids in the theater yelling COOOOOOL! It was such a rad movie, it took place in another awesome dimension of acid and willy wonka. It was mostly CG stuff, but the cars looked rad, and Christina Ricci kept making IT move….mmmmm, forehead. You know a movie is fun when the kid next to you is making those machine gun noises with his mouth we used to make, and was fake driving the entire time…Ok, the kid next to me was me, and I was fake driving with my Mario Kart wheel for my Wii…Big deal. The story line was cool, the comic relief was good enough, and it was so perfectly comic book, the lines were delivered perfectly comic book, it looked like comic book, even John Goodman’s Moustache was comic book. The whole thing was FUN. Another action packed flick to get my summer sweat on. The driving sequences were so cool to watch. It made me think of those glow in the dark electric race track with jumps and loops from the 80’s. Just a good, fun movie. it made me amped to come home and play Wii Mario Kart like a skate video makes me wanna throw big 360 flips, not land 360 flips…THROW 360 flips…Those Matrix brothers know how to use a computer, WHEW! shit was trippy. GO see it, don’t expect to be moved, expect to yell COOOOL! and not check your email on your iPhone in this one. All the kids after the movie came running out pretending to be racing. I acted uptight and Haole like their Parents need to control their kids…but its only cause I was jealous, and that one kid with the Kool Aid moustache cut me off. I SAID I WAS GONNA BE SPEEEEEED!

Ok, sure I gushed over both of these movies, trust me I don’t always do that, I love to hate, but lately these action flicks are getting me amped. I also saw Iron Man, also very awesome, so rad…not gonna write a review, just go see it, be stoked and laugh, cause Robert Downey kills me, witty frikka. 

Next movie I might see is The Strangers, I dunno why…those bag head peeps creep me out.

its for the new coen bros movie…this time a comedy. It reminded me how awesome Brad Pitt can be when he isn’t shoulder deep in Angelina’s Ass.

ACL Fest, to see Dylan, Wilco, Arcade Fire, My Morning Jacket, and all those other random bands must be a good sweaty, hippy of a time.

This really looks good, it has all the classic movies remade, and i’m sure Gondry wants to make up for Science of Sleep. Brian Baldwin and I got all excited and went to go see Science of Sleep on my birthday, and just got bummed. Arty doesn’t always work, even your star is a Dream Boat. Be kind Rewind doesn’t come out til Christmas, hopefully its worth the wait. Boys n the Hood looks especially funny.

I got bored last night. Figured I would mess with this $600 email checker. I do like it, its good fun and is making me lazier than ever. Pretty soon, I won’t have to think at all, all I need now is a Lunch/Dinner decider and i will never think again. I am getting cocky with it though, trying to get my text fingers on point, I got these little sweat bands for my text fingers so we can bulk up and get on the 15 year old speed text program. I find myself looking for excuses to look up all kinds of shit. “What year did Bobby Brown leave New Edition?” “What was Rocky from North Shore’s real name? oh, its Rocky…”

So years ago in a fantasy land called santa cruz, where you can trade a poem for a ride to burningman, and the waves break weed, friends and i made ridiculous short films (kinda like now…5 years later) i decided to relive the glory days and posted one of them on funnyordie.com right when the whole landlord video came out. it was called time to mate, and strangely enough about 115,000 people checked it out. and I wanted to share some of the comments.
